Need help! got a virus on laptop!?

i was just doing some research on the computer and got a virus on my laptop, and it wont go away. ive tried deleting the virus and when i scan the computer agian, the virus is back; its some trojan virus and it wouldnt let me go on the internet or mozilla, so than i tried to switch and use one of my other users on the laptop and it works! i was able to go on the internet and mozilla and i scanned it and there where no viruses. i was wondering if i delete the user that is infected (the one with the virus), would it be okay? because i cant figure out a way to remove it, and i think this is the best way. would the virus still be able to see the info from the deleted user?
